Best Answer Yes, of course they will work as normal inputs...the only inputs you cannot use for most electronics are the Phono Input (its amplification is about 100 X the other inputs and will distort terribly. But Tuner, Aux, Aux 2, etc...will all work, amplify signal, pass it through the preamp, allow tone control (bass/treble) and volume...you will have one set working at a time (you cannot run Tuner AND Aux at the same time...two separate inputs, but each input will be for two amps (stereo). Hope this helps.

Best Answer There are only two amplifier channels, left and right. The A and B switch just puts the A speakers in parallel with the B speakers. The impedance rating is 6 to 16 ohms. This doesn't mean anything in the receiver has anything to do with ohms, the output of the receiver should be nearly zero ohms. The impedance rating of the receiver is actually a current capacity rating that is expressed in speaker ohms instead of being expressed in amperage. So, you can operate with a 6 ohm load. Two 8 ohm speakers in parallel are 4 ohms so this would demand excessive current from the receiver. "Speaker A, B (6 ~ 16 ohms)" Playing either speaker A or speaker B separately the speakers can be anywhere between 6 ohms and 16 ohms. "A + B (12 ~ 16 ohms)" Playing both A and B speakers simultaneously the speakers must be 12 to 16 ohms. Many years ago 16 ohm speakers were common but not any more. For most modern speakers you are not going to be able to play both A and B at the same time without over loading your receiver and causing it to run hot. RMS is the only power rating that has much meaning. FTC - 80W means RMS. Peak will be about 1.41 times this or about 113 watts. If you have 12 ohm speakers on both A and B then you will get 40 watts RMS to each the A and B speakers assuming you are playing both at the same time. If you play them separately you will get slightly more but it would need to be measured to determine how much, probably about 50 ~ 55. It will be insignificant as it requires doubling the power to get a + 3dB increase in volume which is not very significant. mk
