Bear in mind that you will find three key factors to appear for so far as audio devices, and all those are array, strength, and distortion. Vintage sound recording equipment is popular for its dynamic array, quality electrical power, and lack of distortion. In reality, some people imagine the worst distortion takes place in digital kind on the CD. It is because vinyl and mediums like it cover the flaws in the round about way covering all of them with richness and fullness of tone instead of uncooked digital edgy chaos.

Akai Turntable question of the day
Question Low volume out of Akai turntable, why?
I just picked up an old Akai Apb20 at my local Goodwill and it seems to work just fine. However, there is no volume control and I have to crank my stereo to hear anything, which is troubling. Any help would be awesome. FYI, the stylus is really dirty if that has something to do with it. Thanks.
Best Answer you need to connect the turn table to the PHONO input on the stereo. The output from the phono cartridge is VERY low voltage, so it must be connected to a very high gain input. A dirty stylus will effect the audio level. The stylus must not be bent or mis shapened. You might consider to replace the cartridge if it is orginal, it t be 25 years old.

Question Can I use an home theatre system amplifier/receiver with a turntable to transfer my LPs to my PC?
I have an Akai turntable without a built-in amplifier & would like to transfer my LP's to my PC. Do I need to buy a separate amplifier or can I use the amplifier/receiver from a home theatre system?
Best Answer You should be able to go directly from the turntable to the PC with the proper cable. Adding the home theater amplifier would just be an extra step that could degrade the signal.
