Yes,,,it's got a VR,,voltage regulator. But it would be shut down most of the time trying to throttle the excess charging. Which makes a Bunch of Heat in the VR=shortened life. ya COULD rig a switch to turn the Alternator Off and On by interupting the power to the field coil. But that'd be a big hassle in my opinion.
