Question What size amplifier should I get for my truck?
I have 2 9 inch zenith subwoofers in my truck (round type. not 6x9). How many watts should the amplifier be? I'm thinking 300 watts. does that sound about right?

Question Can't find the headphone jack on my Westinghouse or Toshiba LCD TV?
I looked on Answers and found one answer about needing an audio amplifier because the signal from the TV - if I bought an adapter for the audio out jack - wouldn't be strong enough to power the headphones. Is this what everybody has to do? Seems odd that a new TV can't hook directly up to a headphone. How does everybody usually do it?

Best Answer Pretty much as you've described. Larger TVs don't have headphone jacks--the manufacturers apparently assume you'll be sitting too far from the set for a headphone cord. Seems narrow minded, but I can't think of another explanation. Small sets almost always have them. So yes, your only recourse is to use either the red/white RCA audio output or the optical audio output connection on the back of the set to hook up an external amplifier, like a home theater system or simple stereo amp. You can turn down the audio on the TV speakers and use the headphone jack in the amp for your headphones. This is actually what I do, and it works fine. Don't make the mistake of trying to adapt those red/white RCA jacks directly to your headphones. The audio signal there is high impedance and fixed volume, which is what the input of an amplifier needs. It's the opposite on both counts as to what headphones need. --usnvet

Best Answer Definitely try Craigslist to sell it. To find the value, my best advice would be to go to Ebay and look for a similar item and see how much that costs.

Best Answer any brand as long as its CEA-compliant (makes the advertised wattage or more, and has been tested) looking at the available specs for the sub it looks like its 600watts RMS, SVC, and comes in both 2 & 4ohm versions so.....you want an amp that puts out 600watts RMS at the correct impedance (ohms) times 1 or 2 depending on how many you are running. Question Why is my Technics amplifier control jumping?
I have quite an old Technics amp and the volume knob jumps quite a bit, where the volume my go up and down suddenly when you turn the knob. It also effects my speakers, jumping from one speaker to another. I cannot take the knob off to clean. Whats going on and what do I need to do? Its very annoying!

Best Answer unplug it totally from electric take cover off, and spray some electrical contact cleaner inside onto the volume control component's. try and blow away any dust that's accumulated. the vol'knob will pull off, wiggle it then spray inside too....... check your speaker wires and replace if necessary.. remember if there is writing on the wire... it reads away from the amp towards the speakers and make sure they are phased correctly too +&-

Question How can I stop my neighbor's CB from interfering with the speakers on my TV, Radio, telephone etc?
My next door neighbor Roger has three antennas on the roof of his house. Several times a day, he can be heard in my home through the television, stereo, computer, telephone, anything with a speaker. I can't sit down and watch my favorite television shows. I called APS and they said the problem wasn't with the electrical wiring in the house. Cox cable said the problem wasn't with their lines. AT&T said that I could get a portable phone and change the channels or a filter to put on my phone but it only made him come through louder. He talks to people all over the United States every day, he talks to someone named Gator in Florida on his 100 watt amplifier. He tells all his CB buddies all about the tomato plants that he bought, his fishing trips and discussions about the weather. FCC won't do anything because he is not broadcasting on his own radio station and apparently he is not interfering with the airplanes contacting the airport. When I have talked to him he says I have inferior television and radio equipment, I have Sylvania and RCA, I also hear him on my Dell computer speakers, and my General Electric answering machine. Is there anyway to stop him? I have to put my television on mute and watch the close captioning. He is disturbing my peace!
