I replaced the stock orange caps in my 91 Gibson Les Paul Studio with Jensen PIO's. The stock caps are often cited as a weak link the guitar's electronics and PIO's (paper in oil) replacements are a popular replacement. Video contains before and after sound clips.

Vintage equipment will not be unusual more than enough to break the lender on, unless you just come across something super uncommon. So, training superior judgment, and don’t dump income into something that isn't worth it.
Jensen Capacitors question of the day
Question What size of capacitor do I need with a '03 Acura TL, JL Audio 13W7, 1000/1, and Jensen VM9312 touch screen?
The lights dim just a little. But now after almost 2 months I should look into a cap.
Best Answer None. Caps do not help. When your car is running, the ONLY source of power is from the alternator. With a capacitor, the alternator has to work harder to keep the battery, the amp, and now the capacitor charged. Do the Big3 upgrade: http://www.the12volt.com/installbay/forum_posts.asp~TID~73496~PN~1 If your lights still dim (the Big3 will help DRAMATICALLY!), you'll need to upgrade to a HO (high-output) alternator. Don't waste your money on a cRapacitor. Spend your money on 4g or larger power wire for the Big3 upgrade. Have Fun!

Question why does my car stereo system shut off when listening to music?
i have a 2000watt power acustic amp and two 12" kicker subwoofers, i also have a jensen in-dash tv, with a 2.0 fared capacitor.
Best Answer Depends on what is shutting off. If it is just the amp, check the wiring of your subs. You cannot run two 4 ohm svc subs in parallel to a bridged Power Acoustik amp. The only exception to this is if your particular amp is rated 1 ohm stable and can be bridged to 2 ohm mono. They made a few amps that were 1 ohm stable a few years back, but not many. If your head unit is shutting off too, it may not be the problem. Check your grounds. If your whole car loses power, it may be the main ground wire off the battery. If your whole audio system is run off a single fuse somewhere (It shouldn't be), than that fuse may be it's way out. Replace the fuse, and install a new amp power wire that runs direct to the battery and has it's own fuse. The amp should not be wired to any pre-existing circuit. Even a small amp (<100 watts) needs its own power lead.
