Vintage speakers are excellent. Especially if your searching for high performance speaker systems, total collection speakers, or Alnico speakers. Make sure you affirm that the loudspeakers in doing work affliction, simply because they are usually pretty tough to restore. When your obtaining vintage I would not fret about cabinet blemishes as they should not effect audio. Quite a few claim that record players give the best representation of songs. Great record players and information will actually give again more than you shell out on them in the event you appreciate good audio. It's best to snatch these up in case you find them in very good issue. In the event you can get your arms on them, reel to reel players and tape are astounding. Brands to search for are Teac, Pioneer and Sony. They could be cumbersome, significant, and difficult to move, but they will make up for it once you listen to the significant excellent tape they use. Also, remember to check on what type of hurt the classic unit has just before casting your bid. Don't forget the unit in concern might be 30 decades aged, so forget in regards to the company having that which you really need to correct it up! You'll be able to obtain some things like lights and knobs from on the internet dealers, but you can anticipate to pay a really penny from time to time over $10 for just a single knob! Also remember that details like a beat up circumstance are hard to resolve you'll be able to, even so, substitute hardwood situations very simply, as if you care to spend the cash you are able to have a single custom made designed. And normally keep in mind to test charges. Don’t get taken advantage of by spending more than the merchandise is price! Classic equipment is not unusual plenty of to break the lender on, unless of course you simply arrive across some thing tremendous uncommon. So, physical exercise superior judgment, and don’t dump funds into something that will not be worthy of it.
Marantz Tube Amplifier question of the day
Question I own an old 220W Marantz amplifier receiver model 1060. Where can I find the specs?
It needs new tubes, It still plays but every once in a while the tubes give out until I play with the knobs. I'd like to fix it because it's got that nice warm sound. I'm even thinking of getting a nice pair of speakers to go with it. It's also got some dirty knobs and pushbuttons. I believe it's really worth it.
Best Answer sorry - realised tooo late that i'd given you the integrated and not the receiver specs and they're waaay basic too..(the specs that is, not the unit which is a really nice bit of kit!) if you're into getting it really running well i'd suggest you join diyaudio.com and posting a topic asking for advice - over the past coupla years i've built ALOT of kit and these guys have never let me down be it spec-sheets for digital amp chips or good ideas how to make your own rfi shielding for vintage stuff you wanna put in a modern setting. (you ever seen a tube buffered sound card in a pc?)=) you can buy a service manual for the 1060 integrated here which is the same amp...the receiver info's hard to find huh! you sure it ain't a straight forward integrated amp? http://www.user-manuals.com/service-manual-MARANTZ-1060.html

Question Tube Amplification?
i am interested in upgrading my stereo system from solid state to tubes. i have a pair of paradigm titans, but I may upgrade them to monitor 7's in the near future. i've been looking at vintage amps- like fisher and marantz, many are over 00. does anybody have any suggestions that can get me rocking tubes for around 0? i also don't really understand the concept of pre-amps. are they necessary? does the pre-amp have to have tubes as well? something i've imagined would be a modern pre-amp with s/pdif coax connectors (does this exist?) paired with a vintage or at least utilitarian tube amplifier. i don't need fancy looks- just great sound. also, i've seen on ebay- tube amplifiers that have been re-moved from jukeboxes, some dating back to the 50's that have been re-capped. are these any good for audio reproduction in a stereo system? thanks for the consideration to those who provide responses!
