Great video again, CassetteMaster. Your friends expression “an audio delight” FANTASTIC ! At least he also appreciates the good old analogue recording techniques.

Thanks for the reply. I dont mine the hiss since I find the distinguished sound of analog better because well I dont know why I just like that type of sound. I guess its cause I like old songs and theve been recorded using these types of recorders and I realize now, that must be part of why people like old music so much, partly because of the sound they had from these neat recorders. Thanks again.

The analog can have better sound, I recommend it. The downside is hiss. Try analog, I think you’ll like it!

Dude, music is an obsolete reason to listen to radio. Now we have MP3 players (for reliving the classics, or occasional repeats), and we have 30 second excerpts on Amazon[dot]com (for more time-efficient discovery of tracks) just by keywords for music taste criteria!

Besides, theres bigger problems to worry about than curiousity for music, like traffic in the metropolis which radio gives insufficient information for.

So, did this mixtape have 45 record songs that radio never even played?

  12. damusician on June 14, 2008 6:33 pm

your friend nathaniel is cool. tell him i said thank you for the shout-out. btw garcia was moms maiden name before she got married.

“Wildflower”… WOW! My mom made a mixtape years ago with that song on it (she compiled her favorite 45s onto tape)… I used to listen to it when I was a kid… have no idea where it went though… probably got sold at a garage sale… and now it’s at your place. haha, kidding.

Your variety of radio stations are better than mine are in England lol

I’m sorry, I meant to say, “watchers of YouTube can’t be truely convinced”, and again, the audio in these videos are digitized, so it contravenes the fidelity showcase.

  16. SamuraiClinton on June 21, 2008 3:09 pm

At 03:01, somebody said “beats digital” & at 03:04, “analog tape roks” was said. But watchers of YouTube can be truely convinced as the digital nature of the sounds in the YouTube videos are digitized. Bekuz, they have dithering algorithms that mask digital recording to have the analog warmth. So, I think maybe those algorithms might convince you 2 like them if you discover them soon. Most of the songs in this video are ones radio would still play. But its not worth waiting for radio 2 play

“Draggin’ the Line” by Tommy James and the Shondells at 2.57…. i got that on a K-TEL compilation LP, but it’s so close to the end of the record that the auto return kicks in within the first 30 seconds or so of the song lol…. also u know what apparently works great for using as padding for 8 tracks? foam weather stripping. I read that on 8trackheaven . com, but I never tried it yet.
whoops… more recording off the radio… SamuraiClinton’s not gonna like that LOL
