In my previous video of this ballast, I had it laying on the floor with pieces of wire running everywhere. Decided that this ballast needed a home and bought a fixture for it from True Value. The fixture is an American Fluorescent ST series strip light for one four foot F40T12 fluorescent lamp. Replaced the factory Radionics rapid start ballast with the Robertson preheat ballast. I cannibalized the starter and lamp sockets plus some wiring from a 2' F20T12 preheat strip for use in this fixture. Starter is a metal canned FS-4 by Regent Lighting that I also got from True Value. Not shown was the 2' F20T12 preheat fixture I found on clearance for at Lowes which I took the sockets and wiring from. I choose the American Fluorescent brand fixtures on recommendation of DavidFromAE as they had a conveniently located knockout on the cover for the starter socket. Once again, I'm running a Sylvania Octron F32T8 fluorescent lamp meant for electronic rapid-start ballasts on this magnetic preheat ballast.
Classic speakers are good. Particularly if your searching for substantial efficiency speakers, total range loudspeakers, or Alnico speakers. Be sure to confirm that the loudspeakers in working affliction, given that they tend to be pretty difficult to fix. In case your obtaining vintage I would not fret about cabinet blemishes as they should not impact audio. A lot of claim that turntables supply the most beneficial representation of audio. Beneficial turntables and records will definitely give back again greater than you devote on them for those who enjoy wonderful audio. You must grab these up in the event you uncover them in good condition. When you can get your palms on them, reel to reel gamers and tape are amazing. Brands to look for are Teac, Pioneer and Sony. They may be cumbersome, big, and hard to move, but they will make up for it when you listen to the high good quality tape they use. Also, remember to test on what kind of harm the vintage unit has prior to casting your bid. Bear in mind that the unit in question is probably 30 many years previous, so neglect about the producer owning that which you ought to correct it up! You'll be able to get some factors like lights and knobs from on the net dealers, but you can count on to pay a quite penny from time to time over $10 for any single knob! Also remember that items like a beat up situation are difficult to resolve you are able to, nonetheless, switch hardwood situations pretty effortlessly, as if you care to devote the cash you are able to have one particular custom made built. And normally remember to examine price ranges. Don’t get used advantage of by spending greater than the item is really worth! Vintage equipment isn't rare more than enough to break the bank on, except if you just come across some thing super uncommon. So, physical exercise good judgment, and don’t dump money into something that is just not worth it.
Sylvania Transformer question of the day
Question What is the mim. & max 12V. 2AMP transformer can be used with a 17" Sylvania flat screen monitor?
Best Answer The minimum should be the value stated. However, on occasion you can go about 10% lower. It really depends upon the quality of the transformer and the monitor. Keep the voltage no higher than recommended. The amperage rating can go a bit higher. Perhaps 2,5 amps. If the monitor will draw only 2 amps then having a slightly higher rating would be less strain on the transformer. It requires only 2 amps, the rest is not used. This usually gives the transformer longer life.

Question Changing a recessed flourescent light to incandescent?
I recently moved into a condo that had in the powder room, as its single light source, a recessed flourescent light. The bulb was a 2 pin Sylvania DULUX D 13 W flourescent. If I want to change to a screw in standard incandescent can I just change the buld recepticle or do I need to change the whole assembly? Is there a special transformer of ballast that is hidden somewhere that I need to worry about? Thanks in advance.
Best Answer the only way to do this is to replace the fixture. not very hard if you are good with tools. or call an electrician if you need to, the charge should be around 100.00 to 150.00 if you call someone close. there is a ballast that works fluorescent type lamps. you never mentioned if it is a 4", 5" or 6" can. i am betting on a 6" since it is the most widely used. is there an attic above or living space? attic is best for the diy type. but if there is living space i would say to call a licensed electrician. he would know better on which replacement to use. good luck
