This is a vintage teac transcription turntable with a hysteresis motor. A note on the bottom of the plinth states it was assembled in 9/63. This turntable uses a teac arm that lookes like a pickereing with a stereo GE VRII cartridge. It was originally built for 50hz operation so I had a good friend machine a new pinion for 60hz operation. The hysteresis motor works at both frequencies. Being a former machinist I have to say this turntable is very well built. I have rewired the arm with silver wire and speed sounds good to my ears. This is a first test run. I still have to set the turntable up properly. The sound is not nearly as good as it can be. I'm looking forward to tweaking this with a little help from my friends. My carpenter friend said I already screwed up by sanding the top. See the edges? DOH! Thanks for watching and sorry for the lousy camera work but two takes would become ten then nothing would get done. Cheers
Classic audio speakers are excellent. Especially if your searching for substantial effectiveness loudspeakers, entire variety speaker systems, or Alnico speaker systems. Be sure to verify that the audio speakers in doing work affliction, simply because they usually are really hard to fix. When your getting classic I might not be troubled about cabinet blemishes because they should not affect audio. Several state that record players provide the top representation of music. Superior turntables and documents will definitely give again more than you shell out on them should you value wonderful audio. You need to grab these up in case you obtain them in beneficial situation. Should you can get your fingers on them, reel to reel gamers and tape are amazing. Brand names to look for are Teac, Pioneer and Sony. They may be cumbersome, big, and difficult to transfer, but they will make up for it whenever you listen to your superior superior tape they utilize. Also, bear in mind to verify on what sort of harm the vintage unit has in advance of casting your bid. Don't forget which the unit in problem is probably 30 a long time outdated, so forget concerning the producer getting that which you really need to correct it up! You may get some details like lights and knobs from on the web dealers, however , you can anticipate to pay a really penny occasionally through $10 for a single knob! Also recall that details like a beat up circumstance are hard to fix you could, on the other hand, exchange hardwood instances fairly very easily, as if you treatment to invest the cash it is possible to have a single custom built. And always don't forget to look at rates. Don’t get taken benefit of by paying out a lot more than the item is well worth! Classic equipment will not be unusual ample to interrupt the lender on, except you simply come across something tremendous rare. So, training great judgment, and don’t dump dollars into something that isn't worthy of it.
Teac Turntable question of the day
Question I have a Teac turntable that plays records too fast. How can I slow it down?
It's not a belt driven turntable, seems like it's just being turned by the computer in the stereo. On the 33 1/3 RPM setting, it's spinning at about 35 RPM. It's just fast enough to raise the pitch a little, and make the music sound fake and annoying. Does anyone know how to slow this down? What if I put a resistor in there or something? It does not have a speed control (just the 33 1/3, 45, and 78 RPM switch) The model number is DC-D6300 Thanks a lot
Best Answer You don't give a model number so I couldn't look up specs. Does it have a speed control knob? Teac turntables should , I don't recall any that did not. If it does but does not have a built in strobe for tuning you can buy a strobe disk and strobe for it I just don't know where anymore except Ebay. I assume you mean a variable resistor. Might work, depends on the motor and speed control.

Question Does TEAC make high-quality stereo equipment?
I just got a new TEAC turntable/stereo. I wanna know if it's any good, so I know if I wanna return it.
Best Answer In my opinion, it's good equipment. Not top of the line, but certainly decent. If you're a real audio buff you could get better but it you just want decent sound it's fine. Good value for the money.
