Tube amp reviews
boozeclues asked:

I 'm. deciding between Marshall and MG100DFX Peavey ValveKing 112. The Marshall is 100W and has a bunch of built in effects. It is a semi conductor amps. Peavey is the only 50W, but it is a tube amps and is a little less money. It doesn 't the way he built in effects. Both have received good reviews, but after having seen some of the reviews on YouTube, people seem to think that Marshall tone is overpriced and defective. I 'VE seen the many recommendations for Peavey. What should I go for. Feel free to suggest other amps that are around $ 400. Preferably tube amps with a foot switch.

I have owned a marshall mg years ago, they suck, i play on a peavey triple x now, go with the tube dude, you will never go back

  2. buy the one that goes up to 11

Tough choice! I love tube amps, but Marshalls are great amps. Along with my Marshall I also have a vox, which is a tube amp and has great effects. You should check them out, I got my 50W for $200.

  4. Well, I’d say the Peavey. I’m a die-hard Marshall fan, but, overall, I prefer tube amps, and the Marshall MG doesn’t live up to Marshall’s reputation.

  5. I’ve been a Peavey man since the beginning, and they’re tops. Check ‘em out.

  6. The Marshall MG line SUCKS. You don’t need 100W anyway unless you’re playing a football stadium without a PA system.

You won’t need a 50W valve amp either, it’s going to be louder than a 100W solidstate one.

For $400 you might get a used Vox AC15CC, or a new AD50VT (which is a hybrid).
    Those are excellent amps.

  7. I own a Marshall Valvestate VS65R.

I have owned bigger and louder amps but I gotta say: this is, by a mile, my all time favorite amp that I have owned. Very versatile, loud and it won’t break your back lugging it around (it is NOT a big amp at all!).
